TRAIN YOUR DOG COURSE
It is an important part of dog ownership to have a well behaved and good mannered dog. Training doesn't end when your puppy has learned where to go to the toilet and how to sleep through the night.
The recent changes in the law mean that dog owners can be fined up to £20,000, be forced to attend dog training classes or be banned from public areas if their dog is deemed to be out of control or a threat. The ultimate sanction of course is that the dog may be removed from its owner.
With owners now under the spotlight much more than previously it is important to be aware of our dogs behaviour and think what areas, if any, need improving.
As mentioned in other sections, as a club we do not endorse any of the now outdated "leader of the pack" dominance theories in training and support and encourage all training is done using positive reward systems only.
The Train Your Dog course, written by well known and respected trainer and behaviourist Anne Rogers, takes owners through a step by step, day by day course which is not only effective, but fun for both dog and owner.
Cockapoos love to learn and are eager to please and will get great enjoyment from the exercises' and as the owner, you will have the pleasure in seeing your dogs behaviour and responsiveness improve.

Remember, be patient, and dont worry if your dog seems to 'get' some things more than others. Just take your time and work slowly through the course and you will see the changes in your dog and the enjoyment it has learning to do things with you.
