DOGGY DANGERS
It is perhaps a natural thing for us dog owners to want to share some tasty goodies with our much loved dog - however, that tasty chocolate or yummy mince pie could make your dog ill or even cause death.
The adage 'Better safe than sorry' is definately one to bear in mind and it really is best to keep human food for humans and dog food for dogs, unless you are 100% certain no harm is going to be done. Things like a small portion of cooked meat (NOT cooked bones) is unlikely to cause a problem, but is best kept to a now and again treat or for training purposes.
Many every day items and foodstuffs are toxic to dogsDuring the festive season there are a lot of things that the inquisitive puppy or young dog could run into problems with, so a little extra care might be needed.
Below is listed some of the foodstuffs that can make your dog ill - or worse. It is by no means comprehensive, but does list some of the common day to day items that can cause problems.
