WHERE COCKAPOOS COME FIRST!

HEALTH TESTING

Picture
As the Cockapoo is a crossbreed there are some illnesses that are common in their parentage which could be passed onto the pups. These may not show themselves until the puppy reaches maturity, but could have a serious impact on the dogs health and wellbeing.

We recommend that ALL pups come from breeders who have carried out proper health tests (not just a check by the local vet) and will provide paperwork to prove it for your records.

The main diseases that can be tested for are -
PROGRESSIVE RETINAL ATROPHY
RETINAL DYSPLASIA
GLAUCOMA
HIP DYSPLASIA
FAMILIAL NEPHROPATHY
von WILLEBRAND DISEASE
PHOSPHOFRUKTOKINASE DISEASE

Basic information on the most common illnesses and tests available can be found on the following pages  -
